CITRIX XENAPP UPGRADE
The client has 40 Citrix XenApp users that are split into two primary groups, based on job function. The users from these two groups access a published desktop that is specific to each group. The version of Citrix XenApp that was being utilized was outdated and the hardware it was running on was underpowered and outdated.
SelecTech proposed a full system upgrade including server virtualization platform and the Citrix XenApp environment. SelecTech, Inc. provided the project management and completed the project in phases. Project tasks included installing new virtualization server hardware and software, including 10GB connectivity between servers and storage and implementing the new Citrix XenApp environment which included redundancy and secure connectivity from the Internet with a Citrix NetScaler appliance. We were able to install the new servers and move virtual workloads with very little downtime. The migration to the new Citrix published desktops was smooth and seamless for end-users by selecting a pre-migration team to provide feedback on functionality and performance of the new environment.

OFFICE 365 EMAIL MIGRATION
The client had over 280 email mailboxes (including shared mailboxes, resource mailboxes, and public folders) in a 3rd party hosted Exchange environment. Annual charges were close to $40,000. SelecTech, Inc. proposed Office 365 and saved the non-profit organization $22,000, annually.
SelecTech, Inc. provided the project management and completed the project in phases. Project tasks included upgrading the existing Active Directory forest and domain to Server 2012 R2, migrating hosted Exchange mailboxes to Office 365, creating encrypted email policies, synchronizing Active Directory users with Office 365 user accounts, installing the Office suite for Office 365 in the Citrix XenApp environment and upgrading the existing server virtualization platform with new hardware and software.
We completed the project on schedule and within the estimated timeframe.
The client has over 200 Active Directory users and several known security issues throughout the computing environment. SelecTech, Inc. proposed a security audit to identify the areas that were in need of security reform.
SelecTech, Inc. provided the project management and completed the project in phases. We split the project into three key areas; external, internal and documentation. Commonly available security assessment tools and methods were used in identifying external and internal weaknesses and then documented in the final report. The report detailed and prioritized the significance of the focus areas and provided suggested action items for correction or remediation.

HOSTED VOIP MIGRATION
The client had 5 Voice over IP phones that were purchased from another provider prior to SelecTech’s involvement. They experienced frequently dropped calls, very poor call quality and call features were very limited, including basic functionality. SelecTech, Inc. proposed a migration to our hosted VoIP platform utilizing the existing VoIP phones which would resolve all of the issues they were experiencing.
SelecTech, Inc. provided the project management and completed the project with no downtime. We configured the client tenant on our hosted VoIP platform including user extensions and voicemail, templates for the existing phones, auto attendants, and departmental call routing. We implemented a firewall to provide a clear demarcation between the public internet and the internal secure network. In addition, we configured quality of service on the firewall to assign priority to the voice traffic.
The project was completed on time and within budget, but the client is happiest with the call clarity and reliability of the STI VoIP platform.
The client had nine employees at the time of the project. They had a couple of Office 365 licenses, free email accounts from a global email provider and used an online storage solution which was becoming expensive because of the amount of data they were storing. Two phone lines with two wireless handsets were shared among the nine employees. Finally, productivity out of the office became a real challenge because the technology used for communications was lacking efficiency.
SelecTech recommended a comprehensive solution that involved several different technologies to increase productivity, provide a platform for rapid expansion and give the organization a better business presence. We migrated all users to the Office 365 platform which provided a more efficient means of email communication and calendar sharing. Office 365 enhanced the business by providing each employee with an @companyX.com email address.
We solved the storage issue with an on-premise storage solution that provides offline access to files and does a backup to a cloud storage provider. This solution provides an easier and faster way for employees to share and collaborate on large projects.
Finally, we implemented new network equipment and STI Voice over IP. The new network equipment provided a high-speed, reliable network connection for every computer as well as every VoIP phone. Each employee now has their own desk phone, softphone, extension, and voicemail. The auto attendant is very professional and is available 24/7/365.
WORK FROM HOME (WFH)
The client has an outbound call center with six employees. The expenses of renting office space and losing productivity on snow days became more than what was tolerable. SelecTech had already provided the client with the technology solutions they needed to move to a WFH model.
SelecTech helped the business owner plan for a transition from a centralized office to a work from home solution. We analyzed each user’s home office setup to ensure it could handle the computing needs as well as the Voice over IP needs of each employee. We addressed performance and connectivity needs BEFORE moving anybody and then installed their office workspace in each employee’s home office. The result is increased productivity and decreased expenses.
